MOTIVATION & GOALS
Get Ready for Japan is first and foremost a training programme that focuses on cross-cultural aspects of business. As a valuable part of the on-site experience, the EU-Japan Centre arranges Individual Company Meetings (ICMs) with potential Japanese partners. This provides participants with an excellent opportunity to put their newfound knowledge into practice while exploring exciting business prospects.
While ICMs with specific companies cannot be guaranteed, please provide a list of up to six target Japanese companies or types of organisations you would like us to approach. If you have not yet identified any target companies, describe the sectors and profiles of companies you hope to engage with. *
The Centre aims to pre-arrange up to three ICMs per participant based on the list and additional detailed participant information supplied in due time. Please be aware that, given the nature of participants' businesses and the current Japanese business landscape, the Centre cannot guarantee a specific number of ICMs will be arranged. Additionally, delays in responses or incomplete information from participants may lead to the cancellation of scheduled ICMs.

Full Attendance*

If selected, I pledge to attend the entire programme, consisting of five days of online lectures and five on-site days in Tokyo.I understand that the online training is interactive, which requires my full attention as a participant.I understand and agree that my participation in all online lectures and on-site activities is non-transferable. Partial or total absences without a valid reason will result in a deposit penalty (as described in the Selection and Deposit section, below).
Selection and Deposit*

If selected, I will confirm my participation in the training to the Centre by the deadline specified in its selection notice and pledge to pay a refundable deposit of €1000.I understand that in the absence of an emergency or force majeure, failure to attend the online programme every day or failure to participate in the programme in Japan will result in a partial withholding of the deposit. The penalties are €100 for each day of absence.I understand and agree that I am required to submit a concise daily questionnaire at the end of each lecture day, as well as one final questionnaire and a brief individual report at the end of the programme. I agree to receive my deposit refund only after all required materials have been submitted.
ICMs*

Given the nature of my business and the current Japanese business landscape, I understand and agree that the Centre cannot guarantee a specific number of ICMs.I understand that the Centre will organise my ICMs based on the submitted list. However, I acknowledge that the Centre cannot guarantee successful meetings with those companies.I understand and agree that if I wish to bring product samples to Japan for ICM purposes, it is my responsibility to conduct the necessary due diligence regarding import rules and restrictions, including any regulations related to medical products, food items, alcohol or other controlled goods. I acknowledge that the Centre cannot provide legal advice on these matters.
Information Sharing*

I understand that my work contact details will be shared with the EU-Japan Centre's office in Japan, with other SME participants selected for this course and with the co-organisers/experts on this programme.
